Kelly Rowland is an American vocalist, songwriter, starlet and also TV personality that has an estimated net worth of $20 million. Kelly was born on February 11, 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia and her legal name is Kelendria Trene Rowland. Kelly rose to fame in the early 2000’s as a member of Destiny’s Child, which was an R&B girl group and to this date is one of the best selling groups of all time. Kelly and Beyoncé Knowles were part of a group called “Girl’s Tyme” in the early 90’s, they even competed on Star Search but ultimately lost. They kept performing at any events they could get and eventually this lead to them being signed to a record deal with Columbia Records in 1997, but they changed the name from Girl Tyme to Destiny’s Child.
The group was a huge success and had many chart topping hits but by 2005 the group disbanded, it was after this in 2007 that Kelly came out with her 2nd studio album entitled “Ms. Kelly”. The album was moderately successful in the U.S. but overseas the songs “Work” and “Like This” were highly popular. Rowland was a host on the inaugural season of “The Fashion Show” in 2009 and guest appeared on David Guetta’s smash hit “When Love Takes Over”. The song was a worldwide hit and the success of the song inspired Kelly to look more into dance music with her 3rd studio album in 2011 titled “Here I Am”. The album produced a couple of popular songs, one was “Commander” which was an international hit and the other was “Motivation” which was #1 for a while on the R&B/Hip Hop charts.
Since then Kelly has been a judge on UK’s The X Factor (2011) and also on the U.S version of The X Factor (2013) as well. In 2013 Kelly came out with her 4th studio album entitled “Talk A Good Game”, this album wasn’t like the dance inspired album that came before it as this was a more R&B album than that one. It didn’t have any true hit songs but it did get solid reviews. Kelly is still touring, performing and doing television appearances from time to time as well.
